What to do if you need immediate support
Sometimes, we find ourselves knowing that we need help, but not knowing where to find it. If you are struggling right now and need immediate support for yourself or someone else in immediate crisis, please visit one of the services below.

Remember, if you are unable to keep yourself safe or are worried for someone else's immediate safety, you should call 999 or visit your nearest Emergency Department.


Livewell Southwest’s First Response Service is a 24/7 crisis line providing advice, support and signposting for people experiencing mental health difficulties, or supporting someone struggling.

Offering out of hours peer-to-peer support, Headspace are available to offer advice, guidance, and further signposting for those approaching mental health crisis. Access their website for information on appointment availability, and mental health drop ins in Plymouth.

Offering non-judgemental, no pressure support, and available to help you work through what's on your mind. Samaritans offer an email service, and live chat on their website, as well as their 24/7 phone line.

If you feel unable to talk with someone in person or over the phone, you may text Shout on their 24/7 text service. They can offer support for those approaching mental health crises, or struggling with a range of difficulties, such as stress and anxiety, or suicidal feelings.
